"Dignity isn’t an afterthought — it’s our standard."
Christine Andrade - Founder, Divine Living Homecare
I began working as a caregiver in 2008. At the time, I had no idea how deeply this work would shape my life. I was learning, gaining experience, and slowly discovering that caregiving was my calling.
I grew up on the same street as my father’s parents, surrounded by family. My cousins and I grew up together, and we did so much together. Looking back, I understand how much that closeness gave us: a sense of belonging and the comfort of knowing there were people we could depend on.
My grandfather did so much for all of us. I especially remember the way he loved my grandmother. He took so much off her shoulders, and his love showed in the things he did for her every day. Together, they showed us what a strong family foundation looks like. Their example has stayed with me throughout my life.
After my family moved away, I wasn’t able to be there for my grandfather as much as I would have wanted before he passed away. I wish I could have done more. Today, part of how I honor him is through the care and consideration I give to others.
As my caregiving experience grew, I learned how much it matters to feel heard when you begin needing help. I saw people who wanted to remain at home but struggled to find the support to make that possible. I thought about my own parents and what I would want for them someday: someone who would learn their routines, listen to their concerns, respect their decisions, and understand that their home is still theirs.
Those experiences, together with the foundation my family gave me, shaped why I created Divine Living Homecare.
Through our work across the South Shore, Plymouth County, and Cape Cod, I want to bring that same warmth and dependability into the homes we enter. I want the people we support to feel comfortable being themselves. I want their families to have someone they can speak openly with and trust to pay attention to the details that matter.
Divine Living also honors the memory of both of my grandfathers and my maternal grandmother. I am grateful to still have my other grandmother with us, and I pray for many more years with her. I hope she sees something of our family’s love reflected in what I do.
My grandfather gave us an example that continues to guide me. When I think about the way he cared for my grandmother and everything he did for our family, I know what I want to carry forward into someone else’s home.
I hope I’m making him proud.

What Guides Our Approach
Respect for Every Person
Your loved one has a lifetime of experiences, relationships, and preferences. We believe care should recognize the whole person and preserve dignity, especially during personal routines.
Compassion for the Entire Family
The need for home care affects more than one person. Family members may feel worried, stretched thin, or unsure about accepting help. We welcome those conversations and recognize that asking for support can be a significant step.
Support for Independence
Independence can include receiving assistance. Help with certain activities can allow someone to continue participating in other parts of daily life and making choices about how they spend their time.
Appreciation for Familiar Surroundings
Home holds routines, memories, and connections. Our work centers on supporting people who want to continue living in that familiar environment.
